Time before New Year's Eve is always devoted to
preparation to celebrate the new coming period of our life. The hustle and
bustle has already started. We spend time looking for the presents for our
friends and families. We are looking forward (wait with anxiety) to Christmas holidays. That is just what the
doctor ordered (exactly what is wanted and needed) after the hard working
year. But we also find time to take stock of our life (find good and bad
things about it).
New Year is a high time (just the right time when something should have happened) to have a go at (to try) some new activities
or new things. Before that, we can give up (stop) doing some harmful
things or to kick a habit such as smoking (stop doing it) and turn over a new leaf (start behaving in a better way).
Here are 5
resolutions that we offer you to take seriously:
1.
Get the whole picture of you health status and make a
plan of its improvement actions!
Your progress,
achievement level, positive thinking and mood depend on your health status.
That`s the first thing in the list to do in the new coming year. That is the
milestone of your further actions.
2.
Resolve to sleep more!
Renowned neurologist Kulreet Chaudhary, MD, says, “Timing your sleep is
like timing an investment in the stock market – it doesn`t matter how much you
invest, it matters when you invest”. As Rachel
Montañez, the founder of Sleep 10:2 states, we get the most
beneficial hormonal secretions and recovery by sleeping during the hours of
10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. We can also set the goal of getting at least 7 hours of
sleep each night.
3.
Resolve to practice mindful eating
Healthy food
helps to find more energy to achieve all your goals. That`s not a piece of cake
for some people to give up eating fast food and turn to healthy food,
but try to ask several questions before taking your meal: What
does my body need to be nourished? Will I enjoy eating it? How will my body
feel after I eat it?
In
the modern world people tend to become a part of some community or to get
socialized with members of the group of mutual interests. The same can be done
with mindful eating. Find the necessary blogs, join the corresponding groups
and communities and talk about mindful eating habits with other people. Get the
start of your new healthy life!
4.
Resolve to earn more than you spend
Many people
suffer from financial stress. That can cause troubles with health and sleepless
nights. That can also influence the relationship with family and friends. In
that case, that must be definitely become the goal of priority. There are many
modern ways of saving money. One of the most convenient and popular is amortization
calculator. If saving is not your cup of tea (smth you don`t like), then think of finding the extra source of
profit and no need to save!
5.
Resolve to learn 5 new things that you have always
wanted to do well
Learning new
things gives you the opportunity to develop yourself, to open new career
perspectives, to find new hobby, to get new friends etc. There are too many
reasons to start learning new things. I will use only one quote to persuade
you.
“The mind is just like a muscle - the more you
exercise it, the stronger it gets and the more it can expand” (Idowu Koyenikan).
I wish you to become very successful in your resolutions. Once you have decided to bite the bullet (do something difficult), put your heart and soul into it. If you manage to stay the course (not to give up), you will see your efforts bear fruits.
